In many coworking spaces, technology is meant to make things easier, but in practice, it sometimes creates more noise: too many tools, too many notifications, and too many small interruptions that break focus. In this session, Pioneer Collective shares how they think about designing spaces that truly support work, where technology plays a role, but doesn’t dominate. A conversation about reducing cognitive load, simplifying systems, and making intentional choices about what to include, and what to leave out.
Christopher Hoyt shared how The Pioneer Collective has approached technology while growing from one Seattle coworking space into four locations. The central theme was clear: technology should reduce friction, not create more work for members or staff.
